WASH Supply and Humanitarian Logistics Case Studies — South Sudan and East Africa
From cholera response in Juba and Renk to large-scale water treatment across South Sudan’s most conflict-affected states, each case study demonstrates SLS’s ability to manage the full supply chain — procurement, customs clearance, warehousing, and last-mile delivery — under the conditions where reliable logistics matter most
WASH Supply and Humanitarian Logistics Case Studies — South Sudan and East Africa
These case studies document how Specialized Logistics Solutions (SLS) deploys water purification products and WASH equipment at scale during humanitarian emergencies in East and Central Africa.
From cholera response in Juba and Renk to large-scale water treatment across South Sudan’s most conflict-affected states, each case study demonstrates SLS’s ability to manage the full supply chain — procurement, customs clearance, warehousing, and last-mile delivery — under the conditions where reliable logistics matter most.
For procurement officers evaluating WASH suppliers, these deployments provide measurable evidence of delivery capability, product volumes, and operational reach.
P&G Purifier of Water: Cholera Response in South Sudan
In response to South Sudan’s cholera outbreak, SLS partnered with Butyl Products UK, CMMB, and ACHO to deliver over 3.28 million P&G Purifier of Water sachets to 27,344 households across Juba and Renk counties. Each household received 120 sachets, providing treatment capacity for 1,200 litres of safe drinking water per family.
SLS managed the full supply chain: international procurement, customs clearance, warehousing in Juba, and last-mile delivery to remote locations including Renk County near the Sudan border.

Aquatabs Cholera Response: 52 Million Tablets Deployed Across South Sudan
As the sole authorised Aquatabs distributor in South Sudan, SLS deployed 5,207 boxes of Aquatabs water purification tablets — over 52 million individual tablets manufactured by Medentech (Kersia Group) — with a combined treatment capacity exceeding 1 billion litres of safe drinking water.
This large-scale deployment supported the national cholera response across multiple high-risk counties during the 2024–2025 outbreak, the largest in South Sudan’s history.
